Well Well - What a Year this has been. Here are a few highlights
from 2007.
World Wide Impact for Orphanages
Grand Dynamics delivered programs at Orphanages in Thailand and
in Morocco this year. In Southern Thailand, we created a 2 year
experiential education program for the orphan children impacted
by the tsunami. Press Release LINK to tsunami here.
In Morocco, we travelled to Casablanca and delivered a management
training for the directors of orphanages from all over Morocco.
Incredible!
This momentum will continue on with programs in 2008 in Mexico
and others worldwide.
Program Highlights
Self Actualization Keynote
This year’s speech on Self Actualization provided a powerful
platform for passing on the message of living to one’s true
potential. This continuous quest of examining what it means to
“live the good life” and how we can experience more
inner peace and satisfaction in life is at the core of what Grand
Dynamics values as a company.
Retreats… I Mean ADVANCES!
Grand Dynamics has had a rocking year for corporate advances!
Our home office in Jackson Hole has been delivering a variety
of our classic adventure based team building events. Our AMAZING
RACE EVENTS were quite the big hit, and for good reason. This
event includes navigating throughout Jackson Hole in small teams
with SUVs. Teams use GPS units and make their way to scenic JH
locations where a multitude of unique problem solving activities
are presented by our GDI Enthusiologists! - Yes - Our staff! Our
Northeast Division has been very busy this year as well. Will
Leggett has delivered many events across New England and developed
many strategic partnerships with Resorts and Meeting Planners.
Our Staff
Will Leggett, our Northeast Regional Director delivered programs
on the East Coast like wildfire! Many
programs at resorts in the Northeast as well as other locations
across the country. Will got his first article published in
the Ithaca College Quarterly, where he highlighted his experiences
working with fellow alumni Tim Walther. Way to go Willie! 2008
promises to be a great year with your expansion to the New York
City area.
Jamie Reilly has been instrumental in the business management
and development. He has also been keeping busy as a professional
actor and been featured in several local plays here in Jackson
Hole. Jamie - You're the Man!
The rest of our staff contract facilitators came up big this
year delivering high quality facilitated seminars and events.
Thanks to all our PEOPLE that make Grand Dynamics who we are.
Consulting, Training and Grant Writing
We also were quite busy with grant writing and consulting with
several small businesses here in Jackson. It's great to see the
vision of a small business and help those entrepreneurs transition
that vision into reality. Just a couple of our local small business
clients are jhReboot and PureJH.
As always - Grand Dynamics fuels my passion for providing amazing
experiences for teams and the platform for personal and professional
development. I look forward to sharing those experiences and insights
for many years to come.
OTHER PROJECTS
Momentum Builds toward Seeking True North
This is a soon to be published book that I have written with Erick
Erickson. We are very excited to see this project finally be available
to all of our past, present and future clients. The book is a
story of personal and professional development and packed with
Models, Methods and Tools to take life to a higher level. The
main characters are Freedom and Beautiful. The story plays out
as they attend a leadership retreat and learn lessons from an
Older and Younger Facilitator. As the tools are referenced in
the story (the first half of the book), the reader can flip to
the second half of the book to discover a bit more about each
of the tools. The book is scheduled to be published in April 2008.
Thanks to everyone that has been a part of this project in one
form or another.
Reality Television!
The world of wonder - a production company in LA - contacted Grand
Dynamics after searching for an ideal team building company to
be the focus of a new Reality Television show. World of Wonder
is currently pitching the demo reel of Grand Dynamics to television
networks. This should be an interesting one!
BRING IT BACK
This is a film project that I have been working on with Scott
Fessler. Scott is a child hood friend of mine and it is great
to reconnect with him. The film is about the transition from my
Tsunami experience and eventually going back to deliver the funds
to the orphanage two years later. Along the way - the adventure
travel focuses on my First Ascent in Cambodia. The philosophy
part and deriving theme is about Self Actualization and how we
all perceive what it means to live to our own true potential.
PERSONAL INSIGHTS
Rock Climbing and Mountaineering
2007 was an incredible climbing season for me personally. I have
climbed many incredible routes, in the Tetons, Colorado, and world-wide
in Morocco and Spain. A few noteworthy national ascents in 2007
included the South Buttress Right on Mount Moran with Gary Falk,
The North Ridge of Grant Teton with Stephen Koch, The Petit Grapon
with Ivan Huber, The East Buttress of Pingora with Mark Tuttle,
and Dem Bones with Jarad Spackman. Internationally, a few highlights
were the Zeppelin in El Chorro Spain (11 pitch 5.11 D), the La
Classique in Todra Gorge, Morocco (10 pitch 5.10 D) and Afrique
Physique (5.12 B) in Morocco.
Every time I go into the mountains I come away with a deeper understanding
of who I am, how I face challenges, and what is most important
to me. For me, climbing is about challenging my limits personally,
facing fear, and sharing passion with friends.
Of course - having an article published in Climbing Magazine's
EPIC issue in September 2007 is quite the amazing accomplishment.
The
Spirit of Mokwai first ascent in remote Cambodia was the climb,
and is quite an interesting story. Talk about a dream come
true!
Quantum Physics
You are what you think and thoughts are things. Energy is real.
You create your reality with intention. These concepts have been
on the forefront of my mind in 2007 and this will be another topic
of significant interest for 2008. I look forward to many posts
on this topic and to hear your insights on them as well.
